GLOBAL - Actinobacillus Pleuropneumonia (App) is a bacteria which can cause severe respiratory disease in pigs. As one of the most dangerous pig killers, it is important that pig farmers have effective ways to control it.

In a new study, piglets that were challenged with App and treated with gamithromycin injectable solution (ZACTRAN®) had 100 per cent survival compared with 80 per cent survival in the control group. The treated piglets also had increased weight gain.
