More Latvian Backyard Pigs Infected with African Swine Fever

LATVIA - There have been 53 more outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Latvia, killing both pigs and wild boar.

The affected premises included four backyard pig operations. Two pigs died, and there were 6 cases in all across the four pig outbreaks. Another 24 pigs were destroyed to prevent the disease spreading.

There were also 68 cases in wild boar, of which 56 died and the rest were destroyed.
