Call for abstracts for poster session: 2025 ISU James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference
Poster session to be held during the preconference in Ames, Iowa on June 24, 2025; deadline for submissions is Friday May 2, 2025The Iowa State University James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference enables swine practitioners to assist pork producers in a rapidly changing and global production environment by enhancing practitioner decision-making tools in disease control, animal welfare, and food safety for the benefit of animals, clients and consumers.
The conference planning committee is pleased to announce the poster session to be held during the preconference in Ames, Iowa on June 24, 2025. Abstract submissions should be completed using the online poster competition application with a deadline for submissions on Friday May 2, 2025. Abstracts presented at previous conference are eligible for submission to this session.
Authors will be notified of selection to display at the preconference by Wednesday May 14, 2025.
AWARDS, NEW THIS YEAR: Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place student posters as chosen by popular vote. 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $300, 3rd place: $200.
All are encouraged to submit an abstract for the poster session!
Submission Requirements:
- Maximum of 1 page word document. Citations are not included in the page maximum and should be listed at the end of the abstract
- Must include the following information: introduction/background, methods, results, and conclusions
- The presenting author must register for the conference
If selected to present your poster, an infographic style poster will be required and the submitted abstract will be included in the conference proceedings.
