South Korea surpasses Canada as top US pork destinationDespite a slowdown in the fourth quarter, US pork exports to South Korea achieved a significant milestone in 2024, reaching a record annual export value of $727.9 million, according to year-end data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF). This represents a 15% increase compared to 2023.
Additionally, export volume to South Korea reached 214,429 metric tons (mt), marking the second largest volume on record, with a 12% year-over-year growth.
As a result, South Korea has surpassed Canada to become the fourth largest destination for US pork exports. This achievement highlights the strong demand and expanding market for US pork in South Korea, despite the challenges faced in the final quarter of the year.
US pork exports to South Korea have shown robust growth. The country continues to play a key role in the US pork export market.
