China's end-Oct sow herd falls 3.2%

China's sow herd stood at 40.73 million at the end of October, down 3.2% from a year earlier, Reuters reported, citing data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Monday.

The number of pigs slaughtered in China by pig enterprises fell 2.6% from the year before to 264.21 million in the first ten months of 2024, the data showed.
