Brazil pork exports grow 15.1% in November
Monthly shipment is third largest in the history

By: Surveys by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) show that Brazilian pork exports totalled 121.1 thousand tons in November. The number is the third highest number ever recorded in the sector's monthly historical series, and exceeds by 15.1% the total exported in the same period last year, with 105.7 thousand tons.
In terms of revenue, exports increased by 29.5%, with US$291.7 million generated in the eleventh month of this year, compared to US$225.2 million in the same period last year.
Between January and November, Brazilian pork exports totalled 1.243 million tons, a volume 11.1% higher than in the first eleven months of 2023, with 1.118 million tons.
In terms of revenue, the accumulated increase for the year reached 7.3%, with US$ 2.774 billion this year, compared to US$ 2.586 billion in 2023.
The Philippines, the main destination for exports in the sector, imported 28.8 thousand tons in November, a volume 143.9% higher than in the same period last year. Next are China, with 21.1 thousand tons (-17.2%), Chile, with 10.6 thousand tons (+45.7%), Japan, with 9.2 thousand tons (+170.7%), Hong Kong, with 7.9 thousand tons (-38.4%), and Vietnam, with 5.6 thousand tons (+66.9%).
“In eleven months, pork exports have already surpassed all shipments from the sector recorded last year. In this context, it is important to highlight the increased capillarity of pork exports and the positive effect of adopting the pre-listing system* for several markets, such as the Philippines and Chile, which are now emerging as the main destinations for the sector," said Ricardo Santin, ABPA president.
Santa Catarina remains Brazil's leading exporter of pork, with 62.2 thousand tons shipped in November, 8.7% higher than the figure recorded in the same period last year. Next are Rio Grande do Sul, with 30.4 thousand tons (+27.7%), Paraná, with 16 thousand tons (+15.9%), Mato Grosso, with 3.2 thousand tons (+5.5%) and Mato Grosso do Sul, with 2.3 thousand tons (+48.4%).
