Brazil pork sector has excellent month in June - Cepea

The price support came from the excellent performance of Brazilian pork exports in June and also from the heated demand for protein in the domestic market.
After retreating in May, Brazilian exports of pork (considering fresh and processed products) rose again in June.
The purchasing power of the São Paulo pig farmer against corn (important input used in the activity) increased in June, driven by the combination of a rise in the price of live and a fall in the price of cereal. In relation to soybean meal, another input of importance for the pig sector, which was valued at greater intensity than the animal in the same period, the purchasing power of the producer fell.
Competing meats
The average monthly values of pork and chicken meat recorded increases in June compared to May, with more intense advances in pig protein prices. Beef, in turn, has devalued. As a result, the competitiveness of pork fell in relation to competitors, with the difference between the price of the special pork carcass and that of the married bovine carcass being the lowest since November 2020.
