Known globally for its focus on innovation, animal health, nutrition and precision farming, the Animal AgTech programme aims to advance opportunities and partnerships for start-ups as they raise their profile and connect with potential investors and partners.
Meet the companies taking the stage during the Start-Up Pitching Session and showcasing solutions in the Exhibition:
aiHerd (France): aims to optimise the well-being of cows while boosting their productivity. It observes cow behaviors and morphology in an automated manner, offering the comfort they deserve and encouraging them to give their best.
Animals.AI (Sweden): provides individual animal recognition and estrus alert systems, enabling farmers to make data-driven decisions that optimise sustainability and animal welfare.
Animab (Belgium): integrates monoclonal antibodies for oral application in production animals that provides immediate protection against pathogens where vaccines don’t work or there are vaccinal gaps.
Antler Bio (Ireland): has a herd screening platform called EPIHERD. This enables farmers to capture and understand how gene expression influences phenotypic response in their cattle.
Aramune (Northern Ireland): is pioneering the extraction, characterisation and testing of plant phytochemicals from the Malvacaea (Mallow) plant family with proven potential to improve the health and performance of commercial livestock and companion animals.
BioCV (Germany): has developed a ground-breaking BioCV system which includes a range of intelligent products that work seamlessly together and provide real-time data on every animal. Its Bluetooth sensor ear tags are equipped with advanced activity and temperature monitoring sensors, allowing farmers to understand the physiological condition of their animals.
Breedi (Netherlands): is revolutionising livestock genomic selection by offering a streamlined and efficient full-cycle solution wrapped in a user-friendly and seamless web application. Its innovative product enables livestock producers to enhance sustainability and maximise profits using cutting-edge genetic methods and modern IT technologies.
Corbiota (Germany): feeds young animals with earthworms which strengthens their eubiosis – the natural balance of micro-organisms in their gut and immune system and triggers their natural instincts. They grow up stronger, healthier, and more resistant towards diseases, reducing the need for antibiotic treatment.
Dairy Robotics (Ireland): has developed an animal health monitoring device called Health-Eye. The plug and play device does not just help advise farmers on their herd health, but when to intervene on an individual basis and advise potential corrective actions that could be taken.
Elogium (Latvia): creates probiotic animal feed additives to improve food safety, farming sustainability and profitability. The current focus is on a feed additive for broiler chickens that effectively eliminates campylobacter and improves feed conversion.
Genotwin (USA): is optimising biosecurity and sustainability for the global food supply. The company provides advanced infectious disease insights and a comprehensive view of livestock health.
Grinsect (Hungary): tackles the protein crisis and promotes a value-generating biowaste and organic by-product recycling method by producing the ecologically feasible, nutrient-efficient premium black soldier fly protein meal at a very favourable price, achieving all that with a new, validated technology approach.
Omegga (Germany): is developing a non-invasive sex classification technology to prevent the killing of 7 billion male laying hens worldwide each year because they are considered unprofitable for the industry. Omegga offers hatcheries a resource-efficient and ethical alternative to meet the increasing international demands of legislation, food retailers and end consumers. The technology is highly scalable, globally compliant, easy to implement into existing infrastructure and processes and is just a ⅓ of the price of other competitive technologies.
