ASF cases reported in Xinjiang, China

The Chinese government has reported an outbreak of African swine fever in the Xinjiang region on 5 April.

Reuters reports that the outbreak occurred on a farm with 599 pigs. 33 animals were infected and six died.

In a prepared statement, China’s agriculture ministry said that the remaining live pigs at the affected Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps site would be culled.
