Those are responsible for significant production losses due to lower ADG, higher medication costs and higher susceptibility to other diseases with potentially increased mortality. Vaccination against M. hyo was proven to reduce the clinical signs and lung lesions due to EP. Vaccines should be applied at a sufficient time before the exposure to the bacteria, so that efficient protective immune response can develop.

Hyogen® has the declared onset of protection 3 weeks post administration, but 17 days interval between vaccination and the solid protection was demonstrated.
