New report shows a global shift in the use of antibiotics in animals
Figures released by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) show positive global progress on the regulation and monitoring of antimicrobial use in animals.
The pig industry is one that has been criticised for its routine use of antibiotics in the past. Now producers are working alongside vets and government officials to make changes to their systems that remove their dependence on antibiotics and decrease their overall use of critically important antibiotic treatments
