Samoa to Open Pig, Poultry Farm to Support Farmers

SAMOA - Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Polata'ivao says the World Bank-funded farm and piggery will open in two weeks at the agriculture ministry's livestock facilities at Vailima.

Radio New Zealand reports that Samoa imports 40 containers of chicken every month.

Mr Laaulialemalietoa said the initiative is part of a programme to support livestock producers and commercialise the pork and chicken industries.
