GLOBAL - The success of an injection campaign includes the right choice of syringe and needles. Key factors for a reliable syringe are accuracy of each injected dose and reproducibility throughout the campaign.

This ensures optimal protection even up to the last injected animal.

Excellent performance of Socorex syringe is achieved by careful conception and material selection. Ground glass barrel and metal plunger proved to be very reliable for any vaccine type or suspension. Metal valve balls and springs are most efficient when hundreds of injections are performed in a row. Proper plunger tightness without O-ring makes maintenance much easier and avoid any trouble while working.

Needle breakage is a big concern. To prevent this, the Socorex needles are made of long lasting stainless steel and have a thick wall. Sharp bevel is limiting skin wound even after several injections. To minimize tissue damages, prefer smallest possible needle diameter (gauge) size, yet taking vaccine thickness into consideration. A smooth flow must be guaranteed to reduce operator’s hand fatigue and unnecessary animal stress. Superior quality needles are supplied in a safety packaging limiting risk of injuries and contributing to operator’s protection.

The success of an injection campaign is also guaranteed when following basic rules:

  • When vaccination is completed, rinse, disinfect, clean and dry the syringe according to manufacturer’s guide-lines.
  • Dispose single-use and worn-out needles in safety container.
  • Store any re-usable equipment in a clean and dry location. Keep vaccines, diluents and other sensitive materials in a cool and dark place.
  • Keep track record of vaccination parameters such as injection date, operator’s name, animal identification, vaccine type/name and volume, lot and expiry date.
  • Make sure safety of farm personnel and consumers comes first, respect any applicable local and national laws. Mind permanent or temporary rules and guide lines issued by MOA, animal directorates or any professional associations.
