Brazil's Pig, Poultry Production Costs Rise Again
BRAZIL - Brazilian pig and poultry production costs rebounded in April after registering a decrease in the month of March, according to the latest data from the Central Intelligence Agency for Poultry and Swine.Pig production costs rose 2.95 per cent, largely influenced by a 2.71 increase in the cost of feed, together with a smaller increase in the cost of transportation.
The pig production cost index has risen by 9.89 per cent in 2016 so far, and by 24.63 per cent since this time last year.
Broiler production costs rose by 3.14 per cent, also driven by increased spending on feed, transport and equipment.
In the first four months of this year, the broiler production cost index has risen 10.35 per cent and has reached 24.70 per cent in the last 12 months.
