Israel Reports New FMD Outbreak on Pig Farm

ISRAEL - Israel has reported a new outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) on a pig farm in Hazafon.

Of the 2300 pigs susceptible, 172 cases were reported in sows and piglets leading to 120 deaths.

The sows showed classical clinical signs, such as high temperature, blisters on the tongue, muzzle, feet and udder.

A high mortality of piglets has been observed with classical tiger heart lesions.
