Experts to be Grilled at Iowa Swine Day
US - Experts from across the pork industry will gather to discuss key production issues at this year’s Iowa Swine Day, on 25 June. The conference brings together swine production experts to interact directly with pork producers, and includes ISU professors; leading technical experts from the nation’s top pork farms and allied industry; respected veterinarians and animal health experts; and key scientists from national pork producer associations.
The discussions, which will be held in the Scheman Building at Iowa State University, will be followed by a free Smokey D’s BBQ sponsored by AB Vista and Techmix.
Smokey D’s founder and owner, Darren Warth, will speak about his competition barbecue team and restaurant business – and share his secrets to a great BBQ.
AB Vista and Techmix will also present an award that recognizes a person in the pork industry who puts others first.
“The day is an opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends, and network with experts across the pork production chain,” said Casey Bradley, AB Vista spokesperson.
Denny McKilligan, Techmix spokesperson, added: “We encourage industry delegates from Iowa and beyond to register and join us for what promises to be a truly educational and enjoyable event.”
Among the list of presenters is Dr David Fairfield, vice president of the National Grain and Feed Association, and Dr Paul Yeske, from the Swine Veterinary Center, whose presentations will cover the impact of new feed regulations and lessons learned from PED virus, respectively.
