African Swine Fever in Three Lithuanian Wild Boar

LITHUANIA - Three wild boar found at two locations were confirmed with African swine fever last week.

According to Follow-up Report No.43 dated 15 May, two more wild boar have tested positive for the African swine fever (ASF) virus.

On 11 May, one wild boar (a one-year-old female) was hunted in Kupiskis district municipality in the region of Panevezys, and subsequently tested positive for the ASF virus.

Two days later, in Kedainiai district municipality in the Kaunas region, two wild boars - a three-year-old female and a six-week-old male) were found dead. They too later tested positive for the ASF virus.
