Paraguay Aims for Classical Swine Fever Free Status

PARAGUAY - The National Service of Quality and Animal Health (SENACSA) together with the private sector is working hard on the preparation of technical documents to submit to the OIE in order to obtain certification as a country free of classical swine fever.

The Director General of Technical Services, Dr Primo Ricardo Feltes, said the goal is to send the document in July 2015 and, based on the normal time, and if the technical process goes well, the status should be given in May 2016.

"Paraguay from 2001 has maintains a health status of classical swine fever free without vaccination, following the work carried out between SENACSA ??and pork producers in the country."
