Chile Close to CSF Free Status

CHILE - The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has recommended that Chile is declared a country free from classical swine fever (CSF) in recognition of the work that has been done in animal health to eradicate this disease.

The next step to achieve this recognition will be given in May this year.

Similarly, Chile was declared free of PPC in 1998 after successfully completing an eradication programme that lasted 18 years.
