Further PED Outbreaks in Japan

JAPAN - New outbreaks of porcine epidemic diarrhoea (PED) have been reported in two regions of Kyushu island.

According to Nishi Nippon, the number of confirmed outbreaks in Miyazaki prefecture now stands at 12 - five in Nichinan district, four in Miyakonojo, two in Aya and one in Ebino.

There is a suspected outbreak of PED at Usuki in Oita prefecture, which is also on Kyushu. News 24 reports that diarrhoea has affected around 300 pigs on a farm with 1,300 animals.
