Six New Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Latvia

LATVIA - There has been six new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) reported and confirmed in the Strenci, Madona, Naukseni, Dagda, Valka and Burtnieki region of the country.

The outbreaks caused 16 cases of ASF in wild boar.

All 16 wild boar died as a result of catching ASF.

The positive wild boars were found in the already defined African swine fever infected area which has been established in accordance with the EU legislation.

The source of the outbreaks is still unknown.
