The congress highlighted the essential steps to ensure high quality pork production and served as a platform for the exchange of information among key producers from around the world.

The Congress informed participants on techniques to help improve their management efficiency through best practices, as well as providing information on the company’s value based solutions.

The Congress was comprised of presentations on the global economics and evolution of the pork chain, the potential causes and solutions of vaccine failure, the economic impact of the Porcine Circovirus Type 2 (PCV2), a DNA virus that infects pigs, and more.

Sune Christiensen, of the Export Council in Denmark, the world’s largest exporter of pig products, presented the Danish experience of exporting pig meat and customer, Carlo Lasagna, showed participants the Italian value chain in contrast to that currently used in the Asian market.

A highlight of the Congress was a special workshop hosted by Malaysian celebrity chef, Ringo Kaw Fan Chu. Chef Ringo shared what he looks for in pork when preparing a meal, demonstrated cooking skills, and prepared a meal for tall participants.

The High Quality Pork Congress closed with a gala dinner and a Borneo cultural dance show.
Attendees were impressed with the content of the Congress and the opportunity to look at their local swine industry through a different perspective.
