Latvia Reports Five More Wild Boar with African Swine Fever

LATVIA - Five wild boar in the north of the country have tested positive for African swine fever.

The Latvian veterinary authority sent Follow Up report No.12 dated 29 September to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes how a total of five wild boar tested positive from the ASF virus between 24 and 26 September tested positive for the ASF virus. Four of the animals were found dead; the fifth one was destroyed.

The first two animals were in the same parish in the county of Burtnieki, while the other three were found together in Strenci county.
