As part of the requirements needed for international recognition of states as areas which are free from Classical Swine Fever (CSF), from the 3 September, the entry of swine in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul has been restricted.

The decision is detailed in IN 33 authorising, in these states, only the entry of breeding (derived from the Breeding Farm of swine Certified - GRSC), for immediate slaughter and products / by-products inspected by the ministry of agriculture (MAP) services. Thus, the entry of pigs from other states for growing and fattening will not be allowed with the new rule.

Still, breeding farms GRSC located in areas free of CSF with national recognition should meet all certificates and documents required for new IN 33 to enter the two plaintiffs to the international recognition of the OIE states. This same rule applies for the transit of products, by-products and genetic material from pigs for the two states.

Among the requirements are the official veterinary inspection of animal products, byproducts and genetic material in the establishments of origin; Guide Animal Transit (GTA) issued by the Official Veterinary Office (SVO) of the state; The vehicle or transport container sealed by CO in source property, among others.

The IN 33, signed by the minister Neri Geller, does not change the rules for the transit of swine, products, byproducts and genetic material between the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

It is important to remember that these rules restricting transit is crucial for recognition of areas free of various diseases, including nationally.

A similar case occurs, for example, with the number 06 IN 2010 laying down detailed rules for the entry of swine from the areas not recognized nationally as free for those with CSF granted recognition by MAP.
