Tican Setting New Standards in Cooling
DENMARK - Danish meat processor, Tican, is setting new standards in precision cooling, with a new cooling tunnel at the company’s Thisted plant.Precise cooling of the pig after slaughter is important for yields and quality of the meat and gives new possibilities for energy savings at the plant.
“In close cooperation with some of the industry's leading experts in refrigeration technology we have designed the new cooling tunnels to provide the best possible cooling of the pigs so that we can offer our customers even higher meat quality,” said Jens L. Rasmussen, Technical Manager at Tican.
“At the same time we can optimise the yields at the plant.”
The new plant started operation in May fulfilling expectations from day one and promising substantial savings on the future power and gas consumption.
