More African Swine Fever in Russian Swine and Wild Boar
RUSSIA - Six new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been reported in Russia in the Tula, Kaluzhskaya, Pskov and Moskow regions in both swine and wild boar between 27 July and 4 August.The detected cases, all of which are in the western region of Russia, have resulted in 50 cases in village swine herds and one case in wild boar, according to Follow Up Report No.25 dated 8 August from the Russian veterinary authority to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
ASF has killed 31 of the pigs and lead to the destruction of four more animals.
The source of the outbreaks is still unknown.
