Agribusiness Exports Reach $9.61 Billion in July
BRAZIL - Brazil agribusiness exports reached $9.61 billion in July 2014.Products with animal origin accounted for 22.2 per cent of total exports in the month ($ 2.13 billion).
Products of vegetable origin formed the majority of agribusiness exports (77.8 per cent), with the amount of $ 7.48 billion.
The main export sector in July this year was the soy complex, with sales of $ 3.94 billion, representing 41 per cent of total agribusiness exports. The main item was the soybeans, with trading value of $3.15 billion. For soybean meal, sales reached $ 657 million and soybean oil was responsible for revenues of $ 131 million.
The meat industry was the second largest exporter in July, with the amount of $ 1.66 billion.
The highlight was the sector with the chicken, with sales of $ 772 million. The beef reached the figure of $ 690 million and swine generated $ 139 million.
Third was the sugar and alcohol exports, which accounted for $ 1.05 billion.
In the last 12 months, agribusiness exports hit the mark of $ 99.81 billion, maintaining exports of soybean in leadership (USD 33.84 billion).
The meat sector ranks second with $ 17.03 billion in sales and the sugar and alcohol in third with a figure of $11.84 billion.
