ASF in Pskov and Tambov Regions

RUSSIA - Investigation into samples from the carcases of two pigs from a private smallholding in the Pskov region has found the presence of African Swine Fever.

The pigs were on farms in the Minosyan region in the Usvyaty district of Pskov on a smallholding containing 89 pigs.

The virus has also been identified indead pigs from a smallholding in Semenova in the Tokarevskiy district of Tambov.

The pigs were on a farm with 116 pigs.

Rosselkhoznador has put the standard control measures in place and contained the pigs on the farms.

The veterinary authority has also initiated control measures in the Republic of Tartarstan because of concerns that African swine fever could spread to the region.
