ASF Identified In Infected Meat Products

RUSSIA - African swine fever (ASF) has been identified in meat products made from the meat of animals infected with ASF in the town of Kirovsk, Leningrad region.

The Russian Veterinary Service announced that the pork products (bacon, sausage, deli meats) completley violated the established requirements which are in place to stop the spread of ASF.

After this finding, the Veterinary service is urging leaders of the state authorities to pay increased attention to controlling the trade of meat and to combating trafficking of meat in unauthorised places.
