The declaration makes the region more competitive and profitable and helps the promotion of hog production in the state, valued at 338 million pesos.

The agreement published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF) is the product of a coordinated effort between the National Health Service, Food Safety and Quality (SENASICA), the State Government of Tabasco and hog producers of that state, who developed health actions for diagnosis, control, eradication and surveillance both active and passive of the disease.

To demonstrate the absence of Aujeszky's disease, pig herds were sampled.

In order that the State of Tabasco remains free of Aujeszky's disease, measures for diagnosis, prevention, control, surveillance, control of the mobilisation, transport, transit, marketing and traceability of pigs must be applied.
