The restrictions on the export of pork products follows the recent outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian veterinary service thanked the Russian veterinary service for its cooperation in product safety over ASF.

Following the outbreak in the village of Kamyshevatka, Primorsky district of Zaporozhye region, the Ukrainian Inspector of Veterinary Medicine has called for the removal of all animals and goods from the territory and has banned the export of domestic and wild pigs derived from the region.

All 198 pigs that were kept in the affected village have now been destroyed.
