RUSSIA - Dead pigs found dumped in a forest in the Kalinin district have been confirmed as African Swine Fever (ASF).

Measures have been put in place to stop the spread of infection.

Elsewhere in the country, representatives of the Krasnoyarsk veterinary service discussed the threat of ASF in the Krasnoyarsk region.

The representatives stated that farms and producers in the region are not fully prepared to resist the introduction of the infection.

In addition, the introduction of infection may be due to the situation in the region with the collection and disposal of food waste, and the lack of control over the activities of veterinary hunting.
