Meeting Discusses Protection of Bryansk's Largest Pig Farm from ASF

RUSSIA - In connection with the unfavorable situation on the African Swine Fever control, the Russian veterinary service for the Bryansk and Smolensk regions took the initiative to hold a meeting to discuss the management of the largest pig farm in Bryansk.

The meeting was also attended by the heads of local village administrations.

The meeting discussed the threat of ASF in the region and the importance in reducing the number of wild boars.

The head of the pig holding Vladimir Zhutenkov, expressed his concern of the epizootic situation in the country. He said that for his part, he will take all necessary measures to protect the farm.

The meeting also covered the elimination of ASF in small pig farms located in the 5-kilometer zone around the pig farm "Druzhba".

The heads of local communities have begun outreach to the public on the implementation of the plans.
