Violations were identified during inspections. In most cases, the violations were systemic and long-term in nature. The lack of necessary veterinary care facilities and non-basic rules and standards designed to ensure good welfare were noted in almost every test.

As a result half of the perpetrators were brought to administrative responsibility. Three pig farms have been suspended for a period of 30 to 60 days.

As a result of action by the Office from 2009 to present, 56 pig farms which failed to comply with veterinary legislation regarding maintenance of enterprises have been shut down.

Given that the central regions of Russia are affected by African Swine Fever, management continues to work to reduce the risk of occurrence in new regions.
