No Decline in Pig Prices Acceptable

GERMANY - As an affront to pig farmers who have to contend with ever-rising feed costs, Vice President of the German Farmers Association (DBV), Franz-Josef Möller, said there was a sharp decline in pork prices, which fell by 5 cents last Friday.

Instead of working towards pig profitability for the vitally necessary, higher price level, the battle company would have yielded lightly over the food retail sector at the expense of farmers.

Almost at the same time as last year, a positive price trend will simply be canceled, and will, therefore, lead to a devastating blow to the retail grocery trade.

Particularly annoying is the fact that the situation was already bad for days in the industry, according to Mr Möller.
