New Director of Pfizer US Veterinary Medical Services
US - Pfizer Animal Health announced today that it has named Dr Christine Jenkins to the position of Group Director of US Veterinary Medical Services.In her new position, Dr Jenkins will lead the US group responsible for customer support and information on products as well as adverse event reporting and pharmacovigilance. She will be responsible for the company's academic affairs team that supports strategic partnerships with US colleges of veterinary medicine and other key industry stakeholders.
Dr Jenkins also will direct the US philanthropy and corporate social responsibility strategy, which supports key outreach efforts including scholarship and internship programmes.

As a member of Pfizer Animal Health’s US Leadership Team, Jenkins will work closely on the Commitment to Veterinarians™ platform—which offers support through training and education, research and development, investing in the future of the veterinary profession, and philanthropy.
Dr Jenkins has more than 15 years experience in the animal health industry. Prior to joining Pfizer Animal Health, Dr Jenkins was Director of Academic Affairs in the Global Veterinary Business Channel for Hill’s Pet Nutrition where she was responsible for support of the US and Caribbean colleges of veterinary medicine and American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited veterinary technician schools.
Prior to her position at Hill’s, Dr Jenkins was a technical director in regulatory affairs at Merial, responsible for companion animal products regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration. She began her career in animal health at Pfizer Animal Health as a technical services veterinarian.
Dr Jenkins received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Florida A. & M. University and her DVM from Tuskegee University. She completed an internship at the University of Florida and a residency at the University of Tennessee in small animal internal medicine. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in Small Animal Internal Medicine and is a past-president of the ACVIM Foundation, Board of Directors.
Dr Jenkins’ position was previously held by Dr Michael McFarland who recently assumed the position of Group Director, Veterinary Operations, Companion Animals, US Pfizer Animal Health.
