Russia Reports Two New Outbreaks of ASF

RUSSIA - Two more outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported in the Black Sea region in the southwest of the country.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 64 dated 17 August to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes two outbreaks of ASF.

The first outbreak was on a farm at Krylovskiy in Krasnodar Kray. It started on 7 August. Of the 4,585 pigs on the farm, 36 died and the rest have been destroyed.

The second outbreak started one day later in a village herd at Rodionovo-Nesvetakiy in Rostov oblast. Of the herd of 150 pigs, 15 died and the rest have been destroyed.
