More African Swine Fever in Russia
RUSSIA - The country has reported a new outbreak of African swine fever to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).The Russian veterinary authorities sent follow up report no. 34 to the OIE yesterday, 29 July.
The report states that the outbreak took place at a farm in the Volgogradskaya oblast region. 15 animals were identified as affected by the ASF virus. A total of 304 animals were found susceptible to the disease.
According to the report, Kotelnikovsky district in Volgogradskaya oblast shares borders with the African swine fever affected district, Dubovskoy, in Rostovskaya oblast.
The cause of the outbreak is still under investigation.
