IPPC Drop-In Centre at Pig & Poultry Fair
UK - The Environment Agency is hosting a drop-in centre at its stand at the Pig and Poultry Fair to provide help and advice on IPPC (the Environmental Permitting Regulations).Environment Agency staff will be on hand to:
- Offer advice on whether an Environmental Permit is required or whether a change at a permitted farm will require a variation application.
- Provide support and advice on filling in application forms and will explain how they screen and assess the impact of ammonia emissions from farms on nearby wildlife sites.
- Run the first stages of the ammonia screening process if requested (to assist with this process they will need the farm grid reference or postcode, the proposed number of animal places, the tonnage of manure stored on the farm and the surface area of the slurry storage)
- Promote the streamlined application form for broiler farms and will be able to check the eligibility criteria and assist farmers with completing the forms.
- Discuss the new IPPC Assurance Scheme. Producers can find out how they can join the Scheme next year and save £880 of Environment Agency charges.
In addition, the Agency will have new factsheets available on how to review water and energy use.
The Pig and Poultry Fair is being held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 11 and 12 May.
