Rovabio Marks 10th Anniversary
US - This year, Adisseo is celebrating the tenth anniversary since the introduction of its Rovabio range of feed enzymes this year.In 2010, Rovabio® marks its 10-year anniversary of worldwide distribution. The product was initially introduced in Europe 15 years ago, and then launched worldwide five years later. Over the past 10 years, Adisseo's premier enzyme product line has shown versatility, continued innovation, expansion and long-term consistency of response. Since worldwide distribution began, 40 billion birds have been fed Rovabio. This has allowed poultry producers to reduce feed costs by US$400 million, based on today's feed costs.
The Rovabio product line of non-starch polysaccharide (NSP)-degrading enzymes has grown significantly since its introduction. Roviabio was initially introduced in two forms: a liquid, Rovabio Excel LC and a powder, Rovibio Excel AP. Rovabio AP10 was the first addition to the original line. It is a more dilute form of Rovabio AP, designed to be added directly to the mixer for use in feed mills. The second line extension was a more concentrated liquid, Rovabio LC2, which is twice the strength of Rovabio LC. Shipping, storage and in-plant handling costs are reduced because of its concentration, which increases customer value.
In 2009, two other new additions were introduced: Rovabio Excel AP T-flex and Rovabio Max. Rovabio T-flex was developed to thermally protect enzymes at higher temperatures, allowing them to sustain efficacy in most pelleting operations. Rovabio Max was introduced as a combination product of an NSP-degrading enzyme and a phytase enzyme. It is formulated with proprietary stabilisers, which allow NSP and phytase enzymes to retain their efficacy in the same liquid solution, allowing customers to apply both enzymes in one post-pelleting liquid spray system. The combination simplifies feed mill operations and reduces the capital costs associated with the liquid application equipment.
Guy Harari, president of Adisseo North and Central America, commented: "The evolution of enzymes never moved faster than it has in the last ten years. When we launched Rovabio, the possibilities for this new product were endless and we have gone farther than anyone imagined at the time. We broke ground not only with the way enzymes are used, but our technology has enabled us to help customers in new and innovative ways, all while taking our business into profitability and great success.
"I can't wait to see what the next 10 years hold."
