US - The latest assignment for Pfizer Animal Health's 'Virtual Walk the Pens' simulator has just been released. In the third scenario, the players' wean-to-finish operation is experiencing sudden deaths, and they must find out why.

In this scenario, helpful information from a virtual co-worker will be essential in determining the problem. The virtual veterinarian is still on hand for advice, and players can retry the scenario as many times as needed to improve their score.

The simulator is an online educational tool that can be played from any standard computer and is intended to help demonstrate the importance of Individual Pig Care.

New Version

An update has very recently been made to the software. If you downloaded the software prior to Friday 24 July, you should log in and download the latest versions to ensure the most up-to-date game experience.

This will ensure you have the opportunity to achieve the best score possible.

Over 850 Players

So far, 855 players have gone to work in the virtual barn, trying to determine the best course of action for the 2,400 virtual pigs and compete against players across the country. The overall high scores and the next scenario can be found on the website as well.

"We are really encouraged by the response to the simulator," says Eric Farrand, Pig Husbandry Team Manager, Pfizer Animal Health. "It's great to see so many people in the industry getting involved and actively sharing, testing and improving their knowledge of Individual Pig Care."

The fourth scenario will be released on 1 September, and will present players with a brand new challenge. In the virtual barn, just as in real life, each action taken makes a difference.
