US - Students interested in a pork career just got a helping hand from the US Pork Center of Excellence.

The center launched a new program, PIG Opportunities, last month to help students learn and find ways to get involved in the industry.

The program is accessible through the Pork Information Gateway at www.porkgateway.org.

It's the first of its kind in the pork industry, said Claire Masker, USPCE communications specialist and its working well with good interest.

The Careers in Pork section lists a variety of job titles -- such as nutrition research manager or swine Extension specialist -- experience needed, duties and necessary skills.
