Pig farmers warned to "be realistic" on cashflow

IRELAND - Pig farmers attending this year's Teagasc pig conferences were warned to "be realistic" on cash flow and decide now, how they will get through the next six months of high feed prices.

It was the first year that feed costs and not pig prices were the main topic of conversation.

It was also the first time a Teagasc director attended a pig conference, with newly-appointed director, Dr Gerry Boyle, acutely aware of the pressure facing the industry.
