We actually have five different awards, the first one being "Production Innovation."

This particular award recognizes those producers who adopt advanced production methods, who are conforming to on farm food safety standards, who have come up with means to maximize feed utilization in their herds, novel barn designs.

The second award is "Environmental Stewardship" which is awarded to those who have adopted practices or technologies designed to integrate pork production and environmental sustainability and that's a phrase that we hear a lot lately.

The "Community Spirit" award is offered for exemplary leadership and community involvement through contribution and participation in agricultural organizations and unselfish volunteerism in our communities.

"Distinguished Service," this award would recognize exceptional contribution and ongoing dedication to the pork industry.

They may be directly involved in pork production, an industry related field, a member of the research community, or provide professional service to hog producers.

New this year is our "Lifetime Achievement" award and this particular award will celebrate outstanding individuals who's life, work and careers have been dedicated solely to the betterment of the pork industry n Saskatchewan.

Nomination forms are available at the Sask Pork office in Saskatoon or at saskpork.com.

The awards will be presented November 14 in Saskatoon during Saskatchewan Pork Industry Symposium.
