According to information coming in from the Netherlands, Vion are even bringing forward part of their slaughters in order to be able to meet demand for pork. Nevertheless, the number of slaughters falls to a 5 percent backwardness compared with figures achieved in so-called “normal” weeks. And what’s more, the number of live-animal exports towards Germany is on a very low level currently.

A new spirit of optimism is found throughout Europe, causing prices to considerably increase. Quoting plus 6 cents, Belgium and Austria are the countries to increase prices most significantly. But Spain, too, reports about further price increases. There, the prices exceed German prices by 20 cents meanwhile.
