Last nigh they forced the authorities to retreat last in areas such as dairy farm centre, Parlaopet and Nookalamma manyam.

In the wake of large-scale complaints of pig menace, the authorities requisitioned the services of professional pig hunters from the neighbouring Anakapalle four days ago.

But, ever since they launched the operation, not even a day went off peacefully with pig rearers bringing pressure on them. While the other day a sanitary inspector was attacked by pig rearers for leading the professional hunters to their area, on Thursday, the hunters were attacked with sticks right on the municipal corporation office premises where the hunters were staying. Two women injured in the attack.
