NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & Whitehall, and with processors, supermarkets & caterers - fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry.

In its note to producers, Geo Adams says the introduction of hot/cold weights has cost the company approximately 0.25p per kilo.

“Both the National Pig Association and the British Meat Processors Association have agreed that this new rebate calculation should not financially disadvantage either the processor or the producer," says pig development manager Mark Haighton.

“It is with this in mind that Geo Adams and Sons Ltd will be reducing their 50/50 contract base price by exactly 1p/kg from Monday October 9. This reduction will be in addition to any weekly changes in price caused by fluctuating market conditions.

"Any changes to the Geo Adams contract base shall be a one-off correction and there shall be no adjustments made to the final price. All DAPP based contracts shall be reviewed in two to three weeks time.“
