Held just prior to the opening of the 2006 International Pig Veterinary Society meeting in Copenhagen, the symposium, titled "The expanding role of the veterinarian," will feature an in-depth look at major issues facing today's global swine production.

Economics, production, diseases and the future role of veterinarians will be discussed.

Featured speakers include: Albert Vernooij, Rabobank; Dr. John Deen, University of Minnesota; Dr. Karen Lehe, Wolcott, Indiana; and Dr. Larry Rueff, Greensburg, Indiana.

"We appreciate the key role veterinarians play in today's complex world of swine production and we realize the need for global sharing of information," says William Serna, Global Swine Marketing Manager with Elanco.

"Because of our common goals and Elanco's long-standing support of the veterinary community, we're delighted to host this type of meeting."
