Replacement for Schedule 18 declaration
UK - Schedule 18 declarations - for pigs injured or showing signs of abnormality - have been replaced.
NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & Whitehall, and with processors, supermarkets & caterers - fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry. |
A new form can be downloaded here. (PDF) This follows the implementation last month of the new Hygiene Regulations and the revocation of the Fresh Meat Regulations.
At some point in the next two years, 'food chain information' (including the information previously required in the old Schedule 18 declaration) will be required for ALL pigs.
Further guidance is available here (PDF).
Andrew Knowles at British Pig Executive has had a number of calls on this issue and has urged the Food Standards Agency to review its methods of communication with the industry, which it has agreed to do.
