Russia bans pork imports from Slovak region

MOSCOW - Russia banned pork imports on December 1 from Slovakia's Lucenec region because of the discovery of foot and mouth disease and the real threat of the virus spreading to Russia. The ban concerns live pigs, pork and raw pork products, along with all kinds of prepared pork products, the Agriculture Ministry's press service said.
